Snowblades... Hurray for FUN!

So, last Saturday my ward went on a night ski trip and a few days before it I was looking at rental prices and found out that I could rent snowblades and boots for $10! That sounded great to me, because it was half the price of the regular ski package. Who even cares that the regular ski package comes with poles... who needs them!? For $6 (the price of renting poles) I could go out to eat or get some caned soup.

Well, if you don't know what snowblades are (I sure didn't before last week)... they are very small skis that look like the following picture:

Well, I decided to try out the blades and my roommate Candace, who is in a snowboarding class, got excited about jumps and a half pike that they have there, so we decided to try them out. I wish we would have had a camera!!! Next time we're going to definately have to take a disposable camera along so I could properly document the good times. The half pike was a little scary, becuase I don't really like steep dropoffs, but I went for it! I think I bent my arms back more than they have ever been bent before on a couple falls on it, but oh well!

Then there was a thing called the box, which doesn't seem to be meant for skis. But, then there were the jumps. I went off a little one my first time and basically went up and then down the other side. But, by the end of the night I got some great air on some bigger ones and actually landed a few! I can't tell you how sore I am today, but it was well worth it!!! I recommend great jumps next time you go skiing or snowboarding... maybe you should even try out the snowblades! :)

My Color on February 18th at ~5pm...

Here it is!

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

Green happens to be my favorite color, so I'll keep it! :)

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Candace!!!!

So, I was thinking half birthdays the other day. Around here you only visit teach sisters for a semester, so the chances of their birthday being during that time aren't great... So, last semester my companion and I got our sisters a small treat (like their favorite candy) to celebrate their half birthdays, which both happened to fall during that semester. Anyhow, I knew my roommate Candace's birthday was in August and, for some reason (a long story as to the reason) I thought it was August 4th. The day I was thinking about it happened to be February 5th, which was one day late.

Well, I called mom to see if she had anything to decorate with. THANKS MOM!!! I pretty much used mom's decor and gave Candace some candy that I already had (along with some she had bought me the week prior) and wrote little post-it notes on the walls above her bed.It was really fun!
I think I was a lot more excited than she was!!! Probably because she didn't get home until real late and I had decorated hours prior to her arrival.

Then when she finally got back she was confused as to what was going on. Then she informed me that she had never had a half birthday before, let alone one that was two days EARLY!!! Turns out that her birthday is August 7th, not 4th! Ha ha! Oh well, it was still real fun!

Finally!!!

So, I promised some of you pictures of this event a long time ago... well, I finally decided to take this time to post them!

Last semester mom publicized a university wide art show... I'm not sure that's exactly the tradition of the gallery, but she didn't realize. Well, my roommate and I stayed up late the night before to paint our masterpiece! We finished the day that they were to be turned in, but just barely! We didn't have anything to put the frame on with, so we taped it on! :)

Needless to say our painting didn't make it to the actual show. They only choose so many for each type of art to actually be hung. However, since my mother happened to manage the gallery... :D Oh yeah!

Bet you can't tell which one is ours!!! :)

We took the masterpiece to the gallery one night and had mom take pictures of us with our (what does that say... 2nd place!?!) picture!!! ;)

Another quick update: This week...

Okay, now that I just updated you all on the fact that I'm alive I thought I'd update you on the week that I've had thus far (only consisting of two days).

Sunday was pretty long. I had received almost 5 hours of sleep... Saturday night I went to Idaho Falls with my roommate to pick up her sister and brother-in-law at the airport at 10:30pm and on the way back we realized we didn't get food for our board meeting the following day, so we had a 11:30pm run to Albertsons to get some food. Then we had a 7am presidency meeting. Church was from 9-12, I had a meeting at 12:45 about the importance of records and being a 'unfetterer.' Then I ran home to find out the rolls we bought had to rise for an hour or two, but only had 1/2 hour before the board meeting that was to start at 2pm. It all worked out, don't you worry! After that meeting I got my January report done and sent into the stake and ward. Then it was time for dinner and then my roommate and I read until bed time (which happened to be at 9pm!!)
Monday morning... Well, we worked out at 6am. I went to classes and came home to eat lunch and check my e-mail... I found out that my new niece Audrey K was born!!! It really made my whole day! I'm so excited to see pictures, but even more excited to see her in person! :)
After that I took a test, went to a meeting and then it was time for FHE. I found out that FHE was in Ucon (a town which my friend that got off her mission about 10 days ago is now staying in) so I called her up and she came to FHE with us! I haven't seen her for a long time, so it was nice to have her there!
On our way home from FHE there was an accident, it was a suv type car completely on its side. We stopped and ran over to the car with a few other people. The man was stuck in the car and in all the snow that had piled through the window and windshield. We we able to provide a flashlight so the others could try to see what kind of shape he was in. The police finally arrived, followed by the peramedics. We didn't feel like there was anything else for us, so we left.
When I got home i had to take a quiz, but then was able to go to bed.

Well, that was probably more discriptive than anyone wanted, but now you know! :)
Hope you all have a fantastic week!

A quick update...

Well, I was just informed that I needed to get on with my life and update you all! From the looks of my blog... well, aparently I haven't been doing anything... which is pretty true!

However, I could write a little something so you all know I'm still alive! :)

Well, Thanksgiving went well! I enjoyed all the food, so happy day! Christmas was grand as well... it was really good to see most the family and we had loads of fun! After Christmas I went to Montana to visit a friend for New Years. I was sick for most that break. This semester of school has started and is quickly passing!? It has been a REALLY hard semester for me thus far and should only get harder! I'm not sure how I'm going to pass some of my classes, but we'll see.
